ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

The Advanced Open  Water Diver course “AOWD” is where you conquer new skills, see different aquatic creatures, explore into diverse territories and experience new dive adventures. AOWD course have no exams, no pool, just simple reading, review and experience 5 adventure dives to complete the course. it will also increase your allowable limit to 30 meter / 100 feet.

The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of our Instructor(s). You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

  • Last dive not more than 6 months ago, otherwise a Refresher / ReActivate course is required. 
  • Medically fit to dive, for safety, all participants must complete a brief medical prior to commencing the dive. If none of the listed conditions apply, you sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of them apply to you, as a safety precaution, a physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you’re fit to dive, dated within the last 12 months. THEORY

Option 1: Digital / eLearning OR Traditional Classroom and Book:

You’ll plan your learning topics with our instructor(s) by choosing from a list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – you and your instructor will choose the other three, for a total of five dives.

Average eLearning / Book Reading time: 5-7 hours

For Traditional Classroom/Book option – Successful Classroom Time: 2 hours for 1 day

ADVENTURE DIVES

During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving.

The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, Underwater scooter, exploring wrecks and many more.

Successful Adventure Dives: 5 dives – 2 days

FAQ

What's the difference between Open Water and Advanced Open Water?

Open Water Diver certificate allows you to dive up to a maximum depth of 18m/60ft for Adult and 12m/40ft for Junior while in Advanced Open Water Diver Certificate, you are allowed to dive up to a maximum depth of 30m/100ft. Moreover, During your Advanced Open Water Course you will learn new skills, gain more experience and get introduction to broad specialties that scuba diving can offer.

If i did my Open Water under certain Diving Agency. Can i still do the Advance Open Water with under other Diving Agency?

Yes, you can have your Open Water Certificate from any recognized diving agency such as PADI, Raid etc. and continue your education to the next level with other diving agency.

How long do i need to wait after my Open Water Diver course to start the Advanced Course?

You can start immediately after you are certified as an Open Water Diver. 

I am a certified Scuba Diver , can i enroll for the Advanced Open Water course?

Unfortunately, not. You’ll need to upgrade your Scuba Diver License to Open Water Diver , which can be done over two days. for upgrade option, you can check this LINK

Does the certificate expires or has renewal feel?

No, the Advanced Open Water Diver Certificate does not have expiry date nor need to be renewed, however, you will need to keep diving very often to build up experience in diving and not to forget what you have learned during your course.

What can i do after i get certified?

After getting your certificate, you can always join Poseidon Dive Center dive club and have many privileges by becoming a member such as free dives for more information about our dive club CLICK HERE or simply book and join our usual weekends dives for fun under our supervision and guidance by PDC’s crew,

Or you can continue your Scuba diving education by enrolling directly for Diver Stress / Rescue Diver course
