FULL FACE MASK DIVER
Diving with a full face mask allows you to breathe from your nose and mouth, and provides added comfort in colder water. The mask can also be fitted with communication gear, which can be useful for various types of specialty diving
Working divers, such as public safety divers, use full face masks because they protect the eyes and nose from contaminants in the water, provide comfort in cold water, and allow for communication.
If you’re interested public safety diving, scientific diving, or venturing into extremely cold-water, then learning to dive with a full face mask is definitely for you.
Because full face masks allow you to breathe from your nose, they are also beneficial for those who have difficulty using standard scuba masks. Diving with a full face mask offers a different experience and that alone may be reason to give it a try

- Feel comfortable during your entire dive
- Be at least 12 years old
- Be at least a certified Open Water Diver / Junior Open Water Diver
- Last dive not more than 6 months ago, otherwise a Refresher / ReActivate course is required.
- Medically fit to dive, for safety, all participants must complete a brief medical prior to commencing the dive. If none of the listed conditions apply, you sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of them apply to you, as a safety precaution, a physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you’re fit to dive, dated within the last 12 months. THEORY
Digital / eLearning OR Traditional Classroom and Book:
During this program, you will learn
- Properly prepare and check your mask for the dive.
- Make adjustments underwater and clear water out of the mask.
- Respond to simulated out-of-gas emergency situations.
Average eLearning / Book Reading time: 2-4 hours
For Traditional Classroom/Book option – Successful Classroom Time: 1 hour for 1 day
CONFINED & OPEN WATER DIVES
Successful Confined Dive: 1 dive – 1 day
Successful Open Water Dives: 2 dives – 1 days
