Ocean Lounge 2: Nitrogen Risks in Diving

Poseidon Ocean Lounge #2: Nitrogen Risks in Diving

On 8 February, Poseidon Dive Center proudly hosted the second edition of the Poseidon Ocean Lounge at the beautiful Sawalif Poolside, Hilton Doha West Bay. Following the success of our first Ocean Lounge event, which celebrated Shark Awareness Day, divers and ocean enthusiasts gathered once again for an evening dedicated to diving knowledge, safety, and community engagement.

This session focused on Nitrogen Risks in Diving, an essential topic for divers of all experience levels. Through an interactive presentation and open discussion, participants explored how pressure and nitrogen affect the human body underwater and learned the importance of proper dive planning and safe diving practices.

Topics Covered

  • Decompression Illness (DCI)
  • Decompression Sickness (DCS)
  • Saturation and Nitrogen Absorption
  • Dive Tables and Dive Planning
  • Silent Bubbles
  • Lung Overexpansion Injuries

The event provided valuable insights into recognizing risk factors, understanding preventative measures, and applying best practices to enhance diver safety. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions with fellow divers in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

At Poseidon Dive Center, we believe that diving education should extend beyond certification courses. The Ocean Lounge series was created to bring divers together through knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, seminars, and discussions that promote safer and more enjoyable diving experiences.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. Your passion for diving and commitment to continuous learning are what make our diving community stronger.
